Wellington Manuka Honey Company (formerly Silverstream Honey) specialises in Manuka honey,with most foraged from the greater Wellington Region. Each product offers the goodness of a 100% pure New Zealand nectar. Our honeys are not blended, heat treated or processed, retaining their raw, natural qualities from hive to jar.
Our MG rated manuka honeys are independently lab tested. The 3-in-1 test measures concentrations of DHA (dihydroxyacetone), MG (methylglyoxal) and HMF (5-hydroxymethylfurfural), all indicators of the amount of Manuka nectar present. MG is the compound that gives Manuka honey its antibacterial power, with higher concentrations giving a stronger effect. A well-known Manuka grading system is UMF ® and you can convert MG to UMF here.
